Through tours, speaking engagements, and workshops, learn more about Access Living, the Independent Living Movement, disability rights, current issues, and Universal and Green Design
Access Living moved into its award-winning headquarters in 2007. The space, which integrates Universal and Green Design, has been designed to usable by the most number of people, people with disabilities and without disabilities alike. Our goal was to create a space that is a model of user friendly design, not just for the disability community, but to all of Chicago and beyond.
To learn more about Access Living, the disability community, disability rights, and the disability movement, Access Living is happy to work with you and your organization to schedule a disability awareness workshop. Access Living presents to schools, corporations, and other non-profits. At the workshop, Access Living staff will share information about the history of the disability community, laws protecting people with disabilities, and disability etiquette. Also, the Access Living Disability Inclusion Institute will enhance disability cultural competency, and employment and participation opportunities for people with disabilities, in corporate, academic, and non-profit environments.
