Web Accessibility Testing at Access Living

Designing Digital Spaces That Work for Everyone

Web accessibility ensures that people can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with websites, regardless of their abilities or any additional tools they may need to use to access websites. As essential services and information increasingly shift online, accessible digital design has become critical rather than optional.

Despite the importance of accessibility, barriers are still widespread. According to the 2025 WebAIM Million survey, 95% of homepages contained accessibility errors. These errors can cause key content and functionality to be hidden, confusing, or unusable for disabled users. This can result in frustration or even prevent users from completing tasks independently.

Who We Are

The Access Living Digital Accessibility Team is a group of professionals with disabilities who bring both technical expertise and lived experience to every evaluation.

Our team stays up to date with accessibility standards and best practices through ongoing professional development. We understand the perspectives of both website developers and end users, translating this knowledge into practical, actionable guidance.

Our Credentials

Our team members hold industryrecognized certifications, including:

  • CPACC certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP), demonstrating broad, crossdisciplinary knowledge of accessibility, disability awareness, universal design principles, and relevant laws and standards.
  • Trusted Tester certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, a federal credential verifying expertise in evaluating digital content for compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act using a standardized manual testing process.

How We Test

We employ a comprehensive, user-centered testing approach that combines automated tools with in-depth manual evaluation.

  • Automated testing efficiently identifies WCAG-based compliance issues, we always test to WCAG 2.2 AA compliance standards, but can also test for higher compliance or utilizing different standards.
  • Manual testing uncovers usability barriers and realworld user experience issues that automated tools cannot detect.

By combining these methods, we deliver a more accurate and meaningful picture of how disabled users actually experience your website.
