Fair Housing Training

On April 16 at Access Living, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will host a fair housing training for architects, developers, providers and tenants. Organized with the support of Access Living and the Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance, the training will address areas such as accessibility requirements of the Fair Housing Act and strategies to address common violations of fair housing laws.

The event is part of HUD’s Fair Housing Accessibility FIRST program, which promotes compliance with the Fair Housing Act design and construction requirements. The all-day training, which is registered with the American Institute of Architects, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. Architects who register for the training are eligible for up to six hours of continuing education credit.
