Program Director Assistant

Departments: Advocacy and Independent Living

Performs clerical and administrative support to Access Living's Director of Advocacy and Director of Independent Living, who jointly supervise more than 40 staff engaged in direct service and advocacy. Interacts with a wide range of people, including government staff, legislators, state agencies, community organizations and grassroots people with disabilities in a fast–paced environment.

Personal Assistant Services Coordinator

Department: Program - Community Supports

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of Access Living's Personal Assistance (PA) program to support the independent living skills of people with disabilities. Responsibilities include training individuals to be PA's, referrals to consumers who seek to employ PA's and assisting people with disabilities to improve their management of PA's. This position is also responsible for maintaining a pool of available PA's for the Access Living PA registry.

Community Development Organizer for Healthcare/HCBS

Department: Advocacy

This organizing position will be responsible for supporting Access Living's community organizing on the topics of healthcare and Medicaid home/community based services (HCBS). The organizer will focus on the base–building and recruitment of grassroots disability leaders of all ages to build Access Living's capacity for advocacy mobilization.

Disability Inclusion Institute, Business Development Training Specialist

Department: Communications

Access Living seeks a Business Development and Training Specialist for its Disability Inclusion Institute. This role requires skills in sales, marketing, training, and project management. The Specialist will help develop, run, and grow Access Living’s Disability Inclusion Institute, a business training and consulting program. The fee-for-service program will guide Chicagoland businesses and other entities on disability-related access, accommodations, and inclusion. The Specialist will develop a sales plan to grow the program, and will be responsible for managing external requests for disability inclusion consulting. He or she will also be part of building, organizing, monitoring, evaluating, archiving, and conducting the trainings. The Specialist will work closely with, and will be supervised by, the Director of Communications.
