Chicago – December 9, 2021

Earlier this week, Access Living named Sangeeta Patel Driver, MD, MPH to its Board of Directors, and honored Tuyet M. Le and Elliott J. Roth, MD who are rotating off the Board at the end of the year after completing their terms of service.

Dr. Driver brings a wealth of healthcare policy and disability-related experience to her board service, with the goal of supporting Access Living’s mission of igniting disability power and pride, providing critical services, and breaking down systemic barriers to create a stronger, more inclusive society.

Dr. Driver currently serves as an Attending Physician in the Brain Innovation Center at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, where Access Living was once housed before becoming and independent disability nonprofit 41 years ago. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Driver devotes a portion of her time to work on policy, governmental affairs and management initiatives at the Shirley Ryan Abilitylab.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and spent one year of her training focusing on Health Economics and Social Policy at the London School of Economics. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Masters of Public Health degree in Health Care Management and Policy at the Harvard School of Public Health. She has also served as a Congressional Health Fellow on Capitol Hill for Congressman Danny Davis and as a member of his Health Care Advisory Task Force in Chicago. She is double-board certified in the areas of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Medicine.

Board members serve three-year terms with the option of serving a second term upon completion of the first.

Tuyet M. Le and Elliott J. Roth, MD will complete their terms as members of Access Living’s Board of Directors this year.

Tuyet M. Le acted as the Board’s 2020 and 2021 Vice Chair, was heavily involved in Access Living’s strategic planning process, co-chaired Access Living’s race-equity committee, and spent a year as Chair of Access Living’s Program Committee.

Dr. Roth was the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab representative for the board and spent several years on Access Living’s Nominating Committee, serving as vice chair. He also served as vice chair of the Resource and Development Committee in 2017.

Access Living is excited to welcome Dr. Driver to its Board, and looks forward to the work ahead. We thank Tuyet and Dr. Roth for their dedicated years of service to our work.
