URGENT: Stop Assisted Suicide Bill in Illinois NOW

The Illinois legislature is attempting to ram through assisted suicide legislation. THIS IS THE HOME STRETCH. The bill being used is SB 1950 HFA2.

We need your help contacting State Representatives TODAY to defeat Assisted Suicide. Below are House targets that need to hear YOUR voice in this conversation. Please use the call script; it was created using the most influential arguments we have made to defeat Assisted Suicide. You do not need to live in the district to call! Please personalize the script but stick to its core components. You can also use this email link, but phone calls are top priority.   • My name is [insert name], and I am calling to express my concerns regarding the End-of-Life Options Act and ask Representative [last name] to vote NO on SB1950.
  • SB1950 is a last-minute attempt to pass Physician Assisted Suicide without having a full conversation on such an important issue in the House. This bill does not include mandatory psychological evaluations to screen for depression or a mechanism or agency responsible for investigating coercion, which puts people with disabilities and people of color at risk.
  • Question: Does Representative [last name] have a stance on this issue?
    I am deeply concerned that this legislation is moving forward while Illinois’ health system is inadequate. Please vote NO on SB1950 and instead promote investment in accessible health care, including preventative, palliative, and hospice care. Thank you for your time.
