The Community Emergency Services and Supports Act (CESSA) Passes the Senate!

May 28, 2021

Today, the Community Emergency Services and Supports Act (CESSA) has passed the Senate. While we are incredibly excited for this important step, the bill is not yet a law. Now, CESSA will go back to the House for concurrence, and finally it will make its way to the Governor to be signed into law.

It has been a long road to this point, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of our coalition and community partners as well as the Watts Family. The passage of legislation like CESSA would not be possible without the efforts of our bill chief sponsors Representative Kelly Cassidy and Senator Robert Peters, as well as the work of law enforcement, 911 operators, and the fire chiefs throughout the state.
