Big things are happening at Access Living!
For 46 years, we’ve been breaking down barriers for people with disabilities and building a vibrant community of advocates along the way. The majority of Access Living Consumers have always lived on Chicago’s South and West sides, and to create the equitable city that disabled Chicagoans deserve, services must be accessible to where people live.
We are proud to announce that next year, Access Living will open a new neighborhood location in Auburn Gresham in the heart of Chicago’s South Side.

The new site is located within the Greater Auburn Gresham Community Development Corporation’s Healthy Lifestyle Hub at 79th and Halsted. Expanding our physical footprint with this additional 3,400 square foot space will allow Access Living to deepen services to our existing Consumers, as well as reaching new populations. From education programs to peer support groups, independent living and housing services, the South Side expansion will offer a “home base” to help Chicagoans with disabilities thrive.
As consumer Nabi shared in the video announcement, we believe that Access Living’s Auburn Gresham location will be “a huge win for the South side of Chicago.”
Watch for more updates about this historic expansion as we near the anticipated open date in fall 2027.
We are actively fundraising to support the expansion—if you would like to support this project, reach out to Barbara Khalouf, Chief Development Officer, at [email protected] or call (312) 640-2198.
