Announcing…

…The 2nd Annual Access Living Week of Gratitude!

March 22 – March 26, 2021

An illustrated graphic of a month calendar page. Above the calendar are the words, "2nd Annual Week of Gratitude: March 22-26". The calendar has a variety of events listed, including "Int'l Wheelchair Day, Mental Health Support Group, and YPC Meeting." In bold letters across the days 22-26 are the words "Week of Gratitude!!!!"

“Showing gratitude is one of the simplest yet most powerful things humans can do for each other.”

In February of 2020, Access Living held our first-ever Week of Gratitude, a week dedicated to showing our appreciation for the many, many people who make up the Access Living family. This year the tradition continues. The week of March 22, 2021 keep an eye on your email, check Access Living’s social media channels, or come back to this page on our website as we celebrate YOU, the people who are why we thrive.

We can’t wait to thank you.

Day 1, March 22

Thank you for your…

An illustrated graphic that looks like an entry in a dictionary. Across the top are the words, "2nd Annual Week of Gratitude, Day 1". Below, a white square says, "March 22: Energy - noun: a dynamic quality, the capacity for vigorous activity; available power, the ability to act lead others and effect change".

Our energy, physical and mental, is valuable. We are so grateful to have a community of people that dedicate their energy to Access Living.

  • You attend meetings, contribute ideas, organize actions, and show up to fight for affordable, accessible housing, transportation, racial justice, independent living, and more.
  • You support us behind the scenes, and because of you we can do more trainings, workshops, and classes for people with disabilities. Because of you we can reach more people and do more good.

Your energy educates, inspires, builds, and effects change. Your energy powers Access Living.

Day 2, March 23

Thank you for your…

An illustrated graphic that looks like an entry in a dictionary. Across the top are the words, "2nd Annual Week of Gratitude, Day 2". Below, a white square says, "March 23: Time - noun: time as allotted, available or used. An instance of something happening or being done; an occasion. A finite resource."

Like energy, our time is valuable. Unlike energy, time isn’t a renewable resource. Every single moment you spend thinking about, supporting, and fighting for Access Living is a gift to us and to the disability rights movement.

  • In person and online, you use your voices to uplift disability rights and issues. You take the time to read advocacy emails, write or call elected officials, share social media posts, and learn and care about the issues facing people with disabilities. Because of you, our message gets louder and spreads farther.

Your time educates, inspires, builds, and effects change. Your time fuels Access Living.

Day 3, March 24

Thank you for your…

  • You think outside the box the way only a disability advocate can. Where others see only roadblocks and dead-ends you see opportunities to repave the road or chart a new course entirely. (And to carve out some curb cuts while you’re at it!)

Your talent educates, inspires, builds, and effects change. Your talent enlivens Access Living.

Your passion educates, inspires, builds, and effects change. Your passion vitalizes Access Living.

In conclusion…

We wanted to take time to express our gratitude to you, our Access Living family. We are so grateful for each and every one of you – our consumers, allies, advocates, partners, leaders, activists and supporters. Thank you for all you do. We’re so proud to work alongside you to make our city, state, country, and world a better place for us all.
