Jim Charlton

 

Jim helped found Access Living in 1979 and has worked at Access Living as Director of Programs, Executive Vice President, and Acting President since 1985. Presently, he coordinates the Disability Culture Project. He has a graduate degree from the University of Chicago in social theory, and has taught Disability Studies at the University of Illinois since 2000. His book “Nothing About Us Without Us: Disability Oppression and Empowerment, was published in 1998. He has published many articles on politics and social theory in books and journals.
