SUMMARY:Workshop: Body Casting
DESCRIPTION:Join the Arts and Culture Program and our new art therapy graduate intern\, Amy Bernard\, for a free\, fun body casting workshop this Wednesday\, October 26\, from 11am-3pm at Access Living.  \n\n\n\nAmy will take you through creating a cast of your hand\, foot\, face\, or any body part (within reason!) out of plaster. You will take home a piece of yourself as artwork! This event is open to all Access Living consumers and staff. \n\n\n\nThe process will involve holding still for a maximum of 10 minutes in a gooey body-safe material as it hardens. Please dress for the chance of messiness. Prepare to dedicate at least 45 min to your project. \n\n\n\nConsumers can email Amy at abernard@accessliving.org to RVSP and request PACE vouchers. \n\n\n\nSponsors: \n\n\n\nThis event is brought to you by the Arts and Culture Project at Access Living\, an independent living center for people with disabilities\, Bodies of Work: Network of Disability Art and Culture\, Shirley Ryan Abilities Lab\, and the Disability Culture Activism Lab (DCAL)\, a teaching lab housed under the department of art therapy and counseling at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. \n\n\n\nThe contents of this event were developed under a grant from the National Institute on Disability\, Independent Living\, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR grant number 90RTCP0005).
