We are Access Living
Access Living is a center of service, advocacy, and social change for people with disabilities led and run by people with disabilities.
We ignite disability power and pride, provide critical services, and break down systemic barriers to create a stronger, more inclusive society.
We envision a world free from barriers and discrimination – where disability is a respected and natural part of the human experience and people with disabilities are included and valued.
Join a campaign or one of our community organizing groups, become a mentor or a mentee in our youth mentoring program, fundraise and strategize as part of our Young Professionals Council, get and give support in one of our peer support groups and more.
The term invisible disability seems self-exclamatory. Simply put, it is a disability that cannot be seen when looking at someone. According to the ADA, a disability is a physical or mental impairment that limits one or more major life activities. There is no specification that a disability has to be apparent upon first glance.
