New Advanced Leadership Academy

What: The Advanced Leadership Academy is open to people with developmental disabilities who want to advance their leadership skills and have fun in the process. The Academy was made possible by the Department of Disability and Human Development at UIC and Equip for Equality.

The Academy will help leaders develop more skills around leadership, employment and volunteering.

The Academy will run from October 19 through October 23 at the Institute on Disability and Human Development (1640 West Roosevelt Road) at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The Academy is open to: Self-advocacy leaders in Illinois who have a developmental disability, have been a leader for more than 5 years and held an officer position in a self-advocacy group, and have worked on leadership projects and can show how they have used their leadership skills to make a difference
