In honor of Disability Employment Awareness Month, please join the Illinois Treasurers Office, Fifth Third Bank, and members of the disability community for an event to share information about the Illinois ABLE Program and to share information about product options with community stakeholders.
What is the ABLE Program:
The Illinois ABLE program is an investment program that gives people with disabilities the option to save for disability–related expenses without putting their disability benefits at risk.
Why is the ABLE Program important:
Historically, because of asset limits related to disability, people with disabilities have been unable to save money without worry of losing disability benefits like Social Security Income and Medicaid. With an ABLE account, people with disabilities can build assets beyond the traditional $2000 cap, and put those assets toward education, housing, transportation, personal assistant services, and other services related to disability. Illinois Able is a member of the National Able Alliance , a partnership of States dedicated to providing people with disabilities with an ABLE investment product that offers multiple low–cost financial options.
Access Living is a scent–free environment. Please refrain from wearing scented products.
