Support the Creation of a City Task Force on Employment of People with Disabilities

Access Living’s employment organizing group, Disabled Americans Want Work Now (DAWWN), is working hard to urge the Chicago City Council to pass a Council resolution to create a task force on the employment of people with disabilities. DAWWN is asking for your help to contact key Alderman at this easy link .

The resolution must be approved by a majority of the committee before it goes up for a vote in July. If approved, the Task Force would:

• Provide to the Mayor and the City Council recommendations to increase employment and economic opportunities for people with disabilities throughout the City;

• Develop concrete plans for partnership between the public and private sectors; and

• Propose community and economic development plans to increase employment and economic inclusion.
