Access Living President blogs on housing and independence

In December of 2011, Home First Illinois was officially launched. The program, a joint effort between Access Living and IFF, a leading community development financial institution in the United States, develops affordable and accessible housing for people with disabilities.

Supported by the State of Illinois, Chase Bank and the Chicago Community Trust, the initiative will purchase foreclosed and distressed condominiums, then develop the units, transforming them into accessible homes.

Recently, Access Living’s Marca Bristo authored a guest blog for IFF. The blog covers the new Home First Illinois Program and the importance of choice and independence for people with disabilities. To read the blog, check out “related links.”
