Nearly 20 years ago, President George H.W. Bush signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act, proclaiming, “let the shameful wall of exclusion finally come tumbling down.”

While still more to be done, the landmark civil rights legislation has given people with disabilities a tool with which to assert their rights, and has changed the face of disability nationwide, sending the message that disability is a natural part of live.

As we approach July, the disabilty community and the nation is gearing up for a series of events celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities. Follow this link fo A listing of ADA Celebration Events in Chicago
