Safe lifting bill a first for people with disabilities new legislation first of its kind to protect people with disabilities in hospitals On July 14, 2011, Illinois Governor Quinn signed into law Public Act 97-0122, which amended the Illinois Hospital Licensing Act to require implementation of policies that protect people with disabilities when lifting or transferring. The Trujillo Case: Wheelchair user gains access to front door Settlement ends building policy discriminatory against people with disabilitiesCHICAGO – The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois today entered a consent decree resolving a discrimination case brought by a disabled nine-year boy, his parents and the United States against the Triumvera Tower Condominium Association of Glenview, Illinois.
