DRACH
Disability Rights Action Coalition for Housing
DRACH is a national network of advocates who work to protect and enforce the rights of housing residents with disabilities and to increase housing opportunities available to them. Chicago's local DRACH Chapter, founded in 2002, is a diverse group of men and women with disabilities who live in CHA subsidized project-based housing and in low-income communities throughout the city.
DRACH’s local action includes:
Lobbying to create and maintain more options for affordable, accessible and integrated housing for people with disabilities
Education and training for people with disabilities on disability rights laws and responsibilities
Providing information about private- and government-funded housing programs that make housing available for people with disabilities;
Advocacy to ensure that people with disabilities have equal access to all programs, services and activities
Fighting against housing discrimination against people with disabilities
